Spend a lovely morning each week immersed in the gentle and therapeutic art of hand embroidery.  All resources and materials will be provided - you just need to turn up and enjoy!

This is a weekly class spread over a 10 week term (no class on 13 Feb - half term).  Suitable for a variety of skill levels, but as a minimum you should be comfortable handling a needle and thread.  For the more confident embroiderers, the class will provide you with guidance to take a more experimental approach to your work and refine your talents.  Whatever your skill level, you will be able to work at your own pace, in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Over the course of 10 weeks we will explore the theme of “nature treasures”, and produce a collection of “specimens” (eg leaf, feather, butterfly, moth, beetle, shell, etc), using a variety of hand embroidery stitches and techniques.  We will start off by looking at inspiration sources, and learn how to transfer designs to fabric (you will be able to choose from a selection of gorgeous vintage fabrics from my collection for the background of your collection).  Then each week going forward we will focus on a different stitch or embroidery technique, building skills and confidence along the way.  By the end of the course you will have created some beautiful and unique embroidery art.

The course fee includes all the materials you will need. You will be given a kit to use and keep (comprising needles, embroidery scissors, pencil, embroidery hoops x 2, calico, vintage fabric of your choice, and 10 skeins of embroidery thread).  Additional threads and fabric can be purchased at cost.  Embroidery clamps will be available to borrow during the class.

If you would like to cancel your booking please notify me as soon as possible, and no later than two weeks before the start of term, for a full refund.  If you cancel less than two weeks before the start of term I will offer a refund if I am able to fill your place, but cannot guarantee this.  If I cancel the course I will offer a full refund.

Unfortunately I am unable to fill places or to offer refunds for missed classes.

If I cancel a class I will in the first instance provide an alternative date for the cancelled class. If I am unable to arrange an alternative date then I will refund you for the cancelled class. I will not be able to refund you if I have offered an alternative date.
